Design and Development of Electro-Optical Systems

From optical challenge to working system.

Optics, electronics, mechanics and software in one engineering conversation. We develop the measurement, sensing or inspection system your application needs, across the whole spectrum.

One optical path

Designed as one system, not four parts

Most electro-optical projects fail at the interfaces: the optics suit the sensor on paper, the electronics add noise, the software cannot keep up. We own every part of the path, so the interfaces are designed too.

The development conversation

Define the problem.
Make progress measurable.

Every application has different requirements. We gather the functional requirements with your team, then agree review points and acceptance criteria around your project.

The sequence is a proposed framework. Exact activities and deliverables are defined together.

01Requirements & feasibility
We turn the application into numbers: spectral response, bandwidth and frequency response, field of view, object emissivity, uniformity of the absorbing medium and the operating environment.

Output: requirements and measurement priorities

02Design & simulation
System architecture around the required source and sensors. Optical design for field of view, depth of field, uniformity and divergence. Electrical design for responsivity, bandwidth and low noise.
Optical modelingSimulationElectronics

Output: design concepts, models and review material

03Prototype & integrate
Optical, electrical, mechanical and software elements brought together, with control, data acquisition and automated analysis.
LabVIEWFPGADAQ

Output: integrated prototype and interface definition

04Measure & refine
Hands-on characterization in your laboratory or ours. Deviations are investigated and the design is iterated against the agreed requirements.

Output: measurements and verification records

05Document & hand over
Light source, sensors, optics and software delivered with a demo and a documentation package according to ISO 9001:2015.

Output: an agreed technical handover package
