The process in which we aging the xenon lamp is called Electro-polishing. 
Electropolishing is an electrochemical process that removes material from a metallic workpiece. It is used to polish, passivate, and deburr metal parts. In our case, the Xenon Lamp Test chambers operate lamps at a high repetition rate (before shipping to the end customer) to smooth the surface of the electrode.
Is it effective for Bulbs?
Electropolishing is effective in treating the carbide precipitation condition that occurs in the heat-affected zone during welding. It also improves the chrome to iron ratio on the surface which greatly improves the corrosion resistance. When it comes to lamps electropolishing is highly important considering the high temperature during ignition and Regular operation

    We purchased Fast PXL from IZAK Scientific for our needs of Xenon lamp performance as well as Xenon burn-in chamber tests (lifetime test). With Fast PXL, we have gained the ability to quickly test lamps since the system can drive lamps up to 100Hz. The system also includes an acquisition system, hardware, and software to measure, log measured pulses to a file, and an analyzer software application to derive technical conclusions and analytics for lamp performance.
    Fast PXL is a reliable and robust system that can be used as a working station and is almost always operated 24/7. We managed to reduce experiment time from a few months to a few days as well as operative results. IZAK’s team, led by Tzachi, also supports the integration and customizes their product and software application per our request and optical design. The option to drive lamps fast in a high pulse repetition rate saves us precious time and extra costs.
